PATEC PLANS TO MOVE CAPITOL

The Patecian Government has said recent damage to Patekku during the Patec-NPE conflict, plus the need to reform the government to be inline with the subsequent peace treaty, has reignited a old effort to relocate the nations capitol city.

In a press conference the morning of Jan 5th 2026RP (JUN4'23irl) Snoop Dogg said "absolutely - if the Diet decides to move the seat of government I would absolutely support it."

Miscommunication between Patecian and Niteri leadership during the conflict saw Niater accidentally bomb a handful of newly liberated Patecian cities, most notably being the capitol of the republic, Patekku. the Government in Niater quickly apologized publicly for the mishap, and Snoop asked for their cooperation in investigations concerning who delivered orders. Nothing really came of this investigation tho, it was an honest mistake by the Niateri. There was no loss of human life, so Patec is focused on rebuilding rather then getting clear answers to everything that has happened the last year. Its was at the Diets session later that day [jan 5] that, with dust on the walls of the chambers and rafters visible and some fallen to the floor due to bombings, they overwhelmingly voted in favor of relocation. No details concerning the location of the new capitol have been provided as of yet. Patecian Government will sit in Patekku, overseeing the cities reconstruction until the facilities necessary to seat the nations government are complete elsewhere. Speculation has though begun, that the capitol will move slightly south, on the other side of the Pattesaka canal [pending its completion in coming months], move to Tyosaka, or to a more central city within the nations interior. Old government building in Patekku will be repurposed as historical treasures and public spaces.
